Randy Baranek

Ehrhardt Estates Winery

Courtland, CA

Randy has lived on his family's vineyard property all his life.  He is
the fourth generation to farm the property located in the Clarksburg
Appellation along the Sacramento River south of Sacramento.  He has
worked for the family business since he was a young boy, working alongside his father and grandfather in the vineyard.  He also helped his father with homemade wines until he went to college.

Randy attended Fresno State College, majoring in Ag Business with minors
in Viticulture and Enology.  He also played quarterback on the Bulldogs
football team and graduated with honors in four years.

In 2001 Ehrhardt Estates Winery was established to produce high-quality
commercial wines from the family vineyards.   Production is now over 5,500 cases annually, all from estate-grown grapes.  The wines include
Chenin Blanc, Petite Sirah, Wood Duck Reserve Petite Sirah, "Marie" Late
Harvest Chenin Blanc, Dijon Clone 76 Chardonnay, Old Vine Merlot and
Pinot Gris.  Ehrhardt Estates wines have won many awards and honors,
including two double-gold medals, 14 gold medals, 24 silver medals, 20
bronze medals, two "Best of Class", one "Best of Region", and the "Best
White Wine" of the California State Fair in 2005.

The Clarksburg Appellation is known for world-class Chenin Blanc and
Petite Sirah.  Randy and his family are convinced that world-class wines
start with high-quality grapes.  They are dedicated to producing unique, well-balanced wines that reflect the character of the fruit and their love of the land, at reasonable prices.

Randy and his wife, Siara, and their two sons, Drake and Zane, live on
the 108-year-old family farm.
