All of Huntington’s wines are
made under the careful direction of Master Winemaker, Kerry Damskey, an
internationally known and highly acclaimed winemaker and wine business executive
with over 25 years of industry expertise.
Kerry is the founding winemaker of Huntington, having been personally involved
with the brand since its beginning in 1989. Kerry closely collaborates with
partners Bill Leigon and Kent Godwin, stewarding each vintage through the
winemaking season and helping guide the direction for Huntington wines from the
vineyard to the bottle.
A site-driven winemaker, Kerry’s talent lies in his ability to create a unique
statement from a vineyard. Superior varietal wines are created when the elements
of soil and climate are integrated with the winemaker’s skill Kerry graduated
with a Bachelor of Science in Fermentation Sciences from the University of
California, Davis; is a graduate of the Intensive Program for Small Business at
the Stanford University School of Business; and is a candidate of the Institute
of the Masters of Wine.
Currently, In addition to being the winemaker for Huntington, Kerry is also the
proprietor of ‘Terroirs’ an international wine consulting firm specializing in
custom growing and winemaking, strategic consultation, winery start-up, and
operations management. Kerry’s deep passion and interest in wine has made him
one of California’s top winemakers and one of very few to win twice, the coveted
‘Sweepstakes’ award from the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. A family man and
community activist, Kerry and his wife Daisy reside in Geyserville, and are
proud parents of Amity and Drew Damskey.
