While working on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide and in administering literacy programs in Virginia, the Napa Valley seemed like a whole different world to Katharine DeSante.  Then one night, her husband, David, told her he wanted to follow his dream and make wine.  A few months later, they packed up and drove to California to follow that dream. 

David entered the graduate program in enology at UC Davis and Katharine began a new career as a pastry chef.  They worked at wineries and restaurants thru out California, Washington, and Australia before returning to Napa Valley.  What an adventure!

In 2001, after being approached by friends with prominent vineyards, their dreams culminated in the development of their brand – DeSante Wines.  Every day brings new adventures and surprises as David and Katharine work together to create wines to enjoy with friends.
